Is LASO health insurance?

No. LASO is a direct-to-member healthcare service, not insurance. There are no claims, no deductibles, and no network restrictions. Many small employers use LASO as their primary benefit when traditional insurance is out of reach, or as a supplement to MEC or limited plans.

How is this different from the MEC plan we already offer?

MEC plans cover preventive care only. They don't include sick visits, therapy, or prescriptions. Employees with MEC plans still go to the ER or skip care entirely because there's no real benefit when they actually need help.
